How Our Ratings and Featured Placements Work

This release does not publish a computed numerical ranking. It publishes dated evidence, task-fit classifications and a visually separate publisher-selected area.

Two orders that never merge

Publisher-selected placement is a disclosed promotional decision. An evidence order, when shown, follows task fit and evidence strength. A publisher pick is never labeled an independent winner or a test result.

Applicability before prominence

Primary fit requires current evidence for the page’s core task. A broader alternative can appear only after the direct specialist answer and without a numbered rank. Not applicable services are omitted.

Evidence states

We distinguish officially documented, provider-claimed, observed, unknown, stale and conflicting information. Unknown receives no positive or negative inference.

  • Claim scope must match the cited page.
  • A source date appears with the claim.
  • Pricing, accuracy and speed require their own evidence.

Why there is no score yet

A fair score needs the same current criteria and complete coverage for every included provider. Those conditions are not met, so the site displays “not enough comparable current evidence to rank” instead of a manufactured total.

Update rule

A material provider change triggers source rechecking, content review and a new update date. Promotional order changes do not rewrite the evidence record.
